The book of Micah - SBS Teaching January 2020

The Prophet Micah goes to great lengths to reveal the social injustices of his time throughout his book. Within his discourse he tackles questions such as; What do you do when the rich, your government, and the justice system are all corrupt?, Who do you turn to when your spiritual leaders, who are your only connection with God are corrupt?, or What happens when you cry out for justice and it seems like no-one answers?

Using the motif of a Courtroom, Micah grapples with these questions in a 3 Trial structure as he addresses the Capital Cities of Judah and Israel, their Political and Spiritual Leaders, the people as a whole. While contrasting the injustice of man with the justice of God, he highlights the personal responsibility his readers bear in seeing godly justice brought in their everyday lives.
