The Book of Malachi. One of my favourite books of the Bible!

Now at first place this book might seem hopeless, especially when you understand where it falls in Israel’s story. They’ve been out of Exile, and they still just can’t seem to get it right. As a result, for some of us we might just want to be angry when we read this book, and I think that is completely justifiable. If the Israelites are driving you crazy when you read this book, that’s ok!

They are definitely still struggling with sin, and have a lot to figure out.

But when I read this book I love it, because yes, It is a harsh and poignant message to the people of Judah, but it also remains as an excellent witness to the faithfulness of God, and a tale of caution to the believers (or priesthood) of today. Throughout this book, we are continually reminded that God alone is holy, and that regardless of whether we or the people of Israel choose to follow him or not, he is still going to receive the honour, and praise that He is Due. In the end, He will have victory, and He will be feared by His people. Though the Jews may continue to fail, God is going to send his Messenger, change hearts, and save His people. While he saves his Reverent, he will still bring judgement against the unfaithful.

Let's jump into the book of Malachi!
